San Antonio, Texas – South Central Texas is heating up again, but some relief may arrive this weekend as scattered thunderstorms develop across the region starting Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio office, a weak disturbance from the northeast will tap into rising Gulf moisture, bringing isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms to the Hill Country, I-35 corridor, and surrounding counties through Sunday. Rain chances peak at 30% in cities like Austin, San Antonio, and Kerrville by Saturday evening.

High temperatures remain seasonably hot across the region, with highs in the upper 90s to near 105°F through Friday. San Antonio is forecast to reach 102°F Thursday and Friday, with Austin climbing as high as 104°F. Overnight lows will remain muggy in the upper 70s.

Localized downpours may briefly cool temperatures but could also cause slick roadways and minor flooding in low-lying areas. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak heat, stay hydrated, and monitor weather updates heading into the weekend.

Rain chances will taper early next week, but daytime heat and humidity will persist. Additional disturbances could increase storm activity again by midweek.
