San Antonio, Texas – Thunderstorms will linger into the early hours Saturday before dangerous heat builds across South Central Texas. Overnight storms may bring heavy downpours and gusty winds, with rainfall totals ranging from a tenth to half an inch in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service in New Braunfels, showers are likely again Saturday morning with storms possible through midday. Conditions will clear into the afternoon, but highs near 97°F combined with humid air could push heat index values to 106°F. Winds from the south are expected at 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 20 mph.

By Sunday, skies turn mostly clear but the heat intensifies. San Antonio and surrounding Bexar County could see highs at 100°F, with little relief overnight as lows remain near 78°F. Comal and Guadalupe counties face the same dangerous heat, prompting officials to advise residents to limit outdoor activity and hydrate frequently.

Monday and Tuesday stay hot, both reaching 100°F, with a renewed 30% chance of thunderstorms developing by Tuesday afternoon.

Heat advisories remain possible if temperatures and humidity persist through midweek.
