San Antonio, Texas – Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to shift further west tonight, bringing the highest rain chances to the Edwards Plateau and Rio Grande Plains. A few locations in South Central Texas could see up to 2 inches of rain overnight, though much of the activity will remain scattered.
According to the National Weather Service in Austin-San Antonio, the best chance for rain will develop late this evening into early Wednesday, especially across Uvalde, Del Rio, and Eagle Pass. Rain coverage drops off to the north and east, leaving cities such as Austin and Georgetown with lower chances of measurable precipitation.
Drivers along U.S. 90 and I-35 should watch for slick roads if storms move through overnight. While widespread flooding is not expected, brief downpours could cause ponding in low-lying areas. Residents are advised to avoid driving through water-covered roadways and to keep phones charged in case of power interruptions from isolated thunderstorms.
Overnight lows will fall into the upper 60s across the Hill Country and mid-70s near San Antonio and along the I-35 corridor. More rain chances could develop midweek as moisture lingers.
