SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A mild dawn greets the Alamo City this Tuesday morning, but by afternoon, the heat returns in force. The city will flirt with 90 degrees through midweek, feeling more like late summer than late October, before a push of Gulf moisture sets the stage for storms by Friday.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, skies will stay mostly sunny and winds light through Wednesday, allowing daytime highs to climb near 91 degrees. Patchy fog is possible in low-lying areas early Tuesday, especially south and east of the city near the San Antonio River Valley. By Wednesday, breezes turn southeast and humidity begins to rise, signaling the next shift in the pattern.

Thursday will bring one more dry, hot day before the atmosphere destabilizes. Scattered showers could develop by Friday afternoon along and east of I-35, with thunderstorms possible into Friday night. Some may bring brief downpours and lightning, potentially slowing the evening commute or Friday night football games across Bexar, Comal, and Guadalupe counties.

The weekend will feel more seasonal. Rain chances taper Saturday morning, and cooler air follows with highs in the low 80s and clearer skies Sunday. Though the upcoming system won’t trigger a cold snap, it marks a turning point as late October patterns begin aligning for cooler nights and higher rain frequency heading toward Halloween week.
