San Antonio, Texas – Cloudy skies and mild overnight temperatures will continue across South-Central Texas, with patchy fog possible overnight through early Tuesday morning, potentially affecting visibility along major roadways.

According to the National Weather Service Austin–San Antonio, overnight low temperatures are expected to remain in the 50s for most locations, creating favorable conditions for fog development in some areas. Forecasters emphasize that fog coverage will be patchy, meaning not all locations will be affected.

Areas along and east of I-35, including San Antonio, New Braunfels, San Marcos and Austin, may see brief periods of reduced visibility before sunrise Tuesday. Fog could also impact portions of I-10, US-290 and Loop 1, particularly in low-lying or rural areas.

The National Weather Service notes that cloudy skies will persist through the period, helping keep temperatures mild overnight. Any fog that develops is expected to gradually improve after sunrise Tuesday as temperatures warm and mixing increases.

Beyond Tuesday morning, a warming trend is expected to continue through the week, with afternoon high temperatures climbing into the 70s across much of the region, including Austin, San Antonio and surrounding communities. While conditions will trend warmer, rain chances are expected to remain low.

Forecast guidance shows only a low chance for rain Tuesday and again over the weekend, with most locations remaining dry. No widespread hazardous weather is anticipated beyond localized fog impacts during the overnight and early morning hours.

Drivers traveling early Tuesday are encouraged to remain alert for sudden changes in visibility, reduce speed if fog is encountered, and use low-beam headlights when necessary.

The National Weather Service advises residents to continue monitoring updates in case fog coverage becomes more widespread than currently expected.
