According to the National Weather Service Austin–San Antonio, temperatures Wednesday and Thursday will remain near early February averages, with mostly sunny skies and northerly winds of 10 to 20 mph, occasionally gusting higher. Daytime highs during this period will range from the 60s to low 70s along major corridors such as Interstate 35, Interstate 10, and U.S. Highway 290.
Conditions shift Friday as warmer air moves into the region. High temperatures are forecast to climb into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees, including in San Antonio, Austin, New Braunfels, and San Marcos. The unseasonably warm pattern is expected to persist through the weekend and into next week, with daily highs remaining well above normal for early February.
Overnight lows will also moderate, reducing the potential for cold mornings that have been common recently. While skies are expected to stay mostly dry through the weekend, forecasters note that slight chances of rain may return next week as the broader weather pattern becomes more unsettled.
For commuters, students, and outdoor workers traveling along I-35 between Austin and San Antonio or I-10 across the Hill Country, the warming trend may bring more comfortable daytime conditions, though increased afternoon warmth could impact outdoor activities.
