San Antonio, Texas – Seasonably cool air is settling across south-central Texas Monday, with a few light showers possible before a drier pattern takes hold and temperatures continue their up-and-down January trend.
According to the National Weather Service office in Austin–San Antonio, low rain chances will linger today into Tuesday, mainly affecting areas from the Rio Grande eastward toward the Edwards Plateau. Any showers that develop are expected to be brief and light, with no flooding concerns. High temperatures today will range from the mid-50s to mid-60s, including Austin, San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Kerrville.
After Tuesday, dry conditions are expected to dominate through early next week. Temperatures will remain close to mid-January averages, though day-to-day swings will continue. Afternoon highs are expected to fluctuate between the upper 50s and upper 60s, while overnight lows dip into the 30s and 40s, especially in outlying and Hill Country locations.
Motorists should watch for damp roads during any brief showers, but widespread travel impacts are not anticipated. The overall pattern favors quiet weather, making the next several days favorable for outdoor plans with a jacket handy during cooler mornings.
No hazardous weather is expected at this time, though residents are encouraged to monitor updates in case rain chances or temperature trends shift later in the week.
