San Antonio, Texas – Brutal summer heat is set to grip San Antonio through Friday, with temperatures soaring to near 100°F and heat index values reaching as high as 104°F in some neighborhoods. Residents are urged to prepare for multiple days of unrelenting sun, rising health risks, and minimal overnight relief.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday through Friday will bring daily highs from 98°F to 100°F across Bexar County, with humidity driving “feels like” temperatures into the dangerous zone for anyone outdoors. Air quality may deteriorate as the week continues, particularly in urban areas and near major roadways. Light, variable winds will do little to break the stifling conditions, while nighttime lows hover in the upper 70s, offering limited cooldown.

City leaders and first responders recommend limiting outdoor activities between noon and 7 p.m., staying hydrated, and checking on vulnerable neighbors or pets. San Antonio ISD reports after-school programs will operate indoors only until heat advisories expire. Road crews may also shift schedules to avoid peak afternoon exposure, especially along I-10 and Loop 410.

These oppressive conditions are expected to persist until at least Saturday, with only minor relief possible by early next week. Heat advisories remain in effect for all of Bexar County through Friday, and additional alerts may follow if the pattern holds.
