San Antonio, Texas – Scorching temperatures continue to grip South-Central Texas this weekend, with heat index values climbing as high as 106°F on Monday and the potential for isolated thunderstorms across the San Antonio metro.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will bring another dangerously hot day with highs near 101°F. A 20 percent chance of afternoon storms could offer slight relief but may also spark localized wind gusts and lightning. Heat risks are expected to persist into midweek, with Tuesday’s high still near 98°F and calm conditions allowing heat to accumulate.

Residents in Bexar County and surrounding areas should limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, hydrate frequently, and avoid leaving children or pets in vehicles. Power usage may spike as air conditioners run nonstop, so CPS Energy urges residents to reduce unnecessary consumption where possible.

While Monday’s storms are not expected to be widespread, any developing cells could impact parts of I-35 and I-10 during the afternoon commute. Skies will clear by Tuesday night, but the heat is not letting up soon.

Excessive heat remains the main concern through Thursday, with triple-digit highs returning daily. Additional advisories may be issued if humidity levels push heat index values higher midweek.
