San Antonio, TX – Residents across South-Central Texas will continue to see hot, summer-like conditions this week, with temperatures staying well above normal for mid-September.
According to the National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio, Sunday, September 14, will bring partly cloudy skies to the Rio Grande and southern Edwards Plateau, with mostly sunny conditions elsewhere. High temperatures will reach the mid-80s to mid-90s, with the Hill Country holding slightly cooler in the upper 80s to low 90s.
The extended outlook calls for continued heat into next week. Most areas are forecast to reach daily highs in the mid-90s, with only limited relief in the Hill Country. The weather pattern will stay largely dry through Tuesday, with very low chances for rain across the region.
Rain chances improve slightly beginning Wednesday, with a 15–25% probability of showers or storms expected into next weekend. The best chance for rainfall will be along the Rio Grande and western counties, though coverage remains limited.
Forecasters caution that the persistent heat and dryness could increase strain on outdoor workers and vulnerable populations. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit midday outdoor activities, and check on neighbors as the hot weather stretches into late September.
