According to the NWS, temperatures will consistently climb into the triple digits across the region, with heat indices pushing dangerously close to 110 degrees. Residents are urged to take precautions, including staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged outdoor activities, and checking on vulnerable neighbors and family members.
Today’s high is expected to hit 101 degrees, followed by Friday’s forecast of 100 degrees. The weekend will see slightly lower, but still extreme, temperatures with highs of 98 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday. The heat wave will continue into the start of next week, with Monday’s high projected at 99 degrees and Tuesday’s at 96 degrees.
