San Antonio, TX – A significant heatwave is set to grip South Central Texas this week, bringing potentially dangerous temperatures across the region. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued heat advisories, particularly for areas along and east of the I-35 corridor, where temperatures could reach as high as 103 degrees. San Antonio, one of the largest cities in the region, is expected to see temperatures hovering around 98 to 99 degrees throughout the week.

According to the NWS Austin-San Antonio, the seasonably hot weather is expected to worsen as the week progresses, with the possibility of heat indices pushing even higher, exacerbating the risks of heat-related illnesses. The forecast shows little relief, with lows only dipping into the upper 70s each night.

Residents are advised to take precautions, including staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and checking on vulnerable populations, such as the elderly and children. The heatwave is expected to persist through the weekend, with the hottest days likely to be Friday and Saturday, when highs could approach 103 degrees in some areas.
