San Angelo, Texas – Showers and thunderstorms are set to return to much of west-central Texas starting Tuesday as a cold front tracks south through the region, bringing cooler air and breezy winds into Wednesday. Drivers and residents could face wet roads and sudden downpours as storm chances rise across the Big Country and Concho Valley.

According to the National Weather Service in San Angelo, isolated to scattered thunderstorms will develop along the front Tuesday into Wednesday, with rain chances between 30% and 45% across Abilene, San Angelo, Brownwood, and surrounding counties. Winds will shift to the east and southeast at 10 mph, with gusts reaching 20 mph at times.

Highs will dip into the lower 80s across northern Big Country cities like Haskell and Rotan, while areas south of Interstate 20, including San Angelo and Junction, should remain in the upper 80s to low 90s. Cloud cover and rainfall could make conditions feel even cooler.

Residents are advised to allow extra time for travel during heavier showers and to watch for brief wind gusts that may reduce visibility. Lightning will remain the main hazard with stronger cells.

Rain and storm chances linger into Wednesday, with additional updates expected early in the week as the front settles further south.
