San Angelo, Texas – Storm chances will linger in San Angelo through midweek as scattered showers and thunderstorms build each afternoon and evening, keeping heat indices close to 100 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service in San Angelo, isolated storms are expected Tuesday morning before a higher chance of thunderstorms develops after 1 p.m. The risk continues Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night, with rainfall chances ranging from 30 to 40 percent.

Storm activity could bring brief heavy downpours, gusty winds, and lightning, particularly along U.S. 87 and Loop 306 during the afternoon commute. While not every neighborhood will see rain, drivers should allow extra time on slick roads and avoid low-lying crossings if heavier showers develop.

By Thursday, conditions begin to improve with mostly sunny skies and only a slight storm chance before drying out entirely Friday. Temperatures will remain hot, with highs near 96 to 97 degrees and lows in the low 70s, though the humidity will make afternoons feel more oppressive.

The unsettled weather will ease heading into the weekend, giving San Angelo and the Concho Valley several days of dry, sunny skies.
