San Angelo, TX — After a chilly start to the morning, temperatures across the San Angelo area will warm into the mid-50s Saturday under sunny skies. However, residents should prepare for a sharp drop overnight, with lows expected to hit the low 30s by Sunday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, southwest winds will increase throughout the day, reaching 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph by the afternoon. These conditions will bring relief from the recent colder days, making outdoor plans more enjoyable. However, clear skies overnight will allow temperatures to plunge, leading to potential frost in low-lying areas.

Sunday promises another sunny day with a high near 52 degrees, although gusty northwest winds may create a chill. Winds are expected to calm into the evening, allowing temperatures to drop to 27 degrees overnight.

Looking ahead, the week’s forecast brings mostly sunny skies with daytime highs ranging from the upper 40s to mid-50s. Nights will remain cold, dipping into the mid to upper 20s through midweek. Residents are encouraged to dress in layers and protect outdoor plants and pets from freezing conditions overnight.

Drivers traveling along US-87 should remain cautious of strong wind gusts this weekend, especially during the afternoon hours when winds are expected to peak.
