San Angelo, Texas – A ridge of high pressure will build over Central and West Texas in the coming days, bringing hot and mostly dry weather to the region, according to the National Weather Service. This high-pressure system will cause temperatures to soar into the upper 90s and low 100s through the end of the week, with a slight chance (20%) for thunderstorms Wednesday as a weak disturbance passes to the west of the Sweetwater-to-Ozona line.

The hot, dry weather is expected to prevail across cities like Abilene, San Angelo, and Junction, with maximum temperatures reaching as high as 101°F by Friday. Minimum temperatures will hover in the mid-70s overnight. This heatwave is expected to continue through at least Friday, with little relief during the nights.

Residents are urged to take precautions against heat-related illnesses, including staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours. No major disruptions are expected, but travelers should be aware of the persistent heat, especially on highways and rural roads where limited shade could intensify the warmth.

The forecast indicates that conditions will remain hot and dry through the week, with high pressure continuing to dominate. Expect temperatures to remain in the upper 90s or low 100s until Friday.
