Salt Lake City, UT – The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a Freeze Watch for parts of northern Utah, warning of potentially damaging cold temperatures from late Monday night through Tuesday morning.

Forecasters expect overnight lows between 29°F and 32°F across portions of the Northern Wasatch Front and Eastern Box Elder County, including Ogden, Bountiful, Brigham City, Snowville, and surrounding outlying areas such as Plain City and West Weber.

According to the NWS, frost and freezing temperatures could kill sensitive vegetation, damage outdoor plumbing, and mark the first widespread freeze of the season for the region. Residents are urged to bring plants indoors, cover gardens, and drain sprinkler systems before temperatures fall.

The coldest readings are expected in rural and low-lying areas west of the I-15 corridor, where clear skies and calm winds will allow for greater overnight cooling.

Conditions should gradually warm after sunrise Tuesday, but early morning travelers may encounter patchy frost and slick spots on bridges or overpasses.
