Salt Lake City, UT – The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City says the weekend will bring a dramatic weather shift — from mild and dry conditions on Saturday to colder, stormy weather by early Sunday.
Forecasters expect highs to reach up to 5°F above seasonal averages Saturday afternoon, with breezy conditions ahead of an approaching cold front. By early Sunday, that front will move across northern Utah, bringing cooler air, gusty winds, and accumulating mountain snow.
The heaviest snowfall is forecast near the Utah–Idaho border, where several inches could accumulate through Monday morning. Temperatures will drop sharply, with highs about 10°F below normal for northern Utah by Sunday, while southern areas remain closer to seasonal levels.
Travelers heading into higher elevations should be prepared for rapidly changing conditions and possible slick roads.
