Utah residents are warned of critical fire weather conditions starting Sunday, July 28, 2024, through Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Gusty southwesterly winds reaching up to 30 mph, combined with relative humidity as low as 5 percent, are expected to create dangerous fire conditions across much of central and southern Utah.

According to the US National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, these hazardous conditions will affect southern and central Utah from late Saturday morning through Monday evening. The risk will shift to higher elevations in northern Utah on Tuesday. Residents are urged to adhere to local fire restrictions and exercise caution with activities that could ignite sparks.

The weather forecast for Salt Lake City shows clear skies with temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to high-90s throughout the week. Today, temperatures are expected to reach 96°F, followed by highs of 92°F on Tuesday, 90°F on Wednesday, and rising to 96°F on Thursday. The heat will intensify towards the weekend, with temperatures hitting 99°F on Friday and soaring to 101°F on Saturday.
