Salt Lake City, UT – A winter weather advisory has been issued for multiple regions in Utah, with heavy snowfall expected to impact travel from Thursday morning through Friday evening. Residents and commuters should prepare for hazardous road conditions, particularly in mountain areas and along major highways.
According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, the Wasatch Mountains north of I-80 will see the heaviest accumulation, with snowfall totals ranging between 8 and 14 inches from 6 a.m. Thursday to 6 p.m. Friday. Logan Summit and Mantua are expected to be among the most affected areas.
The Wasatch Back region, including Park City, Huntsville, and Heber City, will receive 1 to 3 inches of snow, with locally higher amounts of 5 to 7 inches near Park City. This advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Thursday until noon Friday.
In Eastern Juab and Millard counties, snowfall between 2 and 4 inches is forecasted, particularly along the eastern benches. This advisory will remain active from 6 p.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Friday.
Salt Lake Valley and the Northern Wasatch Front, including Salt Lake City, Bountiful, West Jordan, Ogden, and Sandy, are also under an advisory from 6 p.m. Thursday to noon Friday. These areas may see 1 to 4 inches of snow, with localized accumulations exceeding 6 inches due to lake-effect snow bands.
