Sacramento, CA – Sacramento’s stretch of mild summer days is coming to an end as temperatures steadily rise toward the low 90s by early next week.

According to the National Weather Service, high temperatures will hover in the low- to mid-80s through Friday, but Sunday marks the beginning of a notable warming trend. By Monday, the capital region could hit 92°F — the warmest day in over a week.

Today’s high will peak near 79°F under partly sunny skies. Winds from the south-southwest will remain light at 6 to 9 mph. Overnight lows will dip to around 56°F, providing a comfortable evening before warmer days settle in.

Daytime highs on Wednesday and Thursday will rise to 83°F and 84°F, respectively. The region remains under mostly clear skies with no rain in sight. Residents in Elk Grove, Citrus Heights, and Rancho Cordova should expect similar conditions and plan for increasing afternoon heat.

With triple-digit temps likely around the corner, officials recommend staying hydrated, checking on vulnerable neighbors, and limiting outdoor activity during peak heat.

A stronger heat dome may form over interior Northern California by early next week. Stay tuned for updated advisories as Monday’s highs approach the mid-90s.
