DuPage County, IL – A Roselle man accused of reportedly possessing child pornography and methamphetamine has been ordered detained ahead of trial, prosecutors announced Friday.

According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, Judge Joshua Dieden granted the state’s motion to hold Jorge Figueroa, 35, of Roselle, without bond. Figueroa faces multiple alleged felony charges, including seven counts of possession of child pornography, one count of possession of methamphetamine, and one count of failing to register as a sex offender.

Investigators allege that on May 6, 2025, Figueroa uploaded three images of child pornography to his Snapchat account. The Roselle Police Department launched an investigation after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. On September 11, officers executed a search warrant at Figueroa’s home, where they allegedly recovered numerous images and videos of child pornography along with about one gram of methamphetamine.

“Child pornography is not a victimless crime,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement, vowing to pursue charges vigorously. Roselle Police Chief Rob Barreto also credited investigators for their work, stating the case made the community safer.

Figueroa’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 6, 2025, before Judge Ann Celine O’Hallaren Walsh.

Authorities reminded the public that charges are not proof of guilt and that defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
