Roof Collapse in Morris Triggers Major Emergency Response

Morris, IL – A roof collapse at the Roth & Jorstad Insurance Building in Morris, Illinois, has prompted a significant emergency response, including Morris Fire Department Stations 1 and 2. 

According to the Morris Fire Protection District, the incident occurred at 822 Liberty Street, a two-story building typically featuring commercial space on the ground floor and residential units above. Technical Rescue Team (TRT) was deployed for the building collapse, with ongoing evacuation efforts. Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) Division 15 TRT Advisors were also requested to assist at the scene. Additional units from Channahon, Minooka, and Braidwood, including Engine 411, Truck 1319, Squad 1316, and Truck 2419, have been dispatched to support the emergency operations.

As of now, no injuries have been reported. However, authorities advise the public to avoid the area, considering the ongoing risk until demolition or repairs are undertaken.
