Deputies said the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. near mile marker 36 in Rockingham. Investigating Deputy Sgt. Norton stopped a vehicle allegedly driven by Walker H. Wilbur, 25, of Richmond, New Hampshire, after radar detected him traveling 45 mph over the posted 65-mph speed limit.

According to the sheriff’s report, Wilbur was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and excessive speed. He was also issued civil citations for speeding and for allegedly operating without a valid New Hampshire driver’s license, as his privilege to drive there was under suspension.

Wilbur was released on a citation to appear in Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division, on February 24, 2026. No bail was set, authorities said.
