Hampton, NH – A Massachusetts man is facing felony and DUI charges after an overnight police pursuit on Interstate 95 that began near the New Hampshire border and ended at a Portsmouth gas station, according to state police.
According to New Hampshire State Police, Troop A troopers were alerted around 11:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, that Massachusetts State Police had attempted to stop a vehicle for alleged erratic driving on I-95 northbound near the state line. The driver allegedly fled the initial stop and continued into New Hampshire.
Sgt. Gary Wood Jr. soon spotted the vehicle, a 2015 Mercedes GLA, allegedly being driven erratically on I-95 northbound in Hampton Falls. When the driver failed to stop, a pursuit began and continued into Hampton, where troopers deployed tire deflation devices, police said.
Despite driving over the tire deflation devices, the driver allegedly sped up, passed through a closed lane at the Hampton Toll Plaza and damaged state-owned traffic cones before continuing north, according to troopers.
The pursuit reached Portsmouth, where additional tire deflation devices were deployed and struck the Mercedes’ tires. State police said the driver allegedly swerved toward another trooper during a subsequent deployment, placing the trooper at risk of serious injury.
The vehicle exited at Exit 5 and traveled a short distance along the U.S. Route 1 Bypass northbound before stopping in a service station parking lot, where the driver was arrested without further incident.
Troopers identified the driver as Rayshawn T. Patton-Brisbon, 40, of Danvers, Massachusetts. During their investigation, troopers determined Patton-Brisbon allegedly showed signs of impairment. He was charged with two felony counts of reckless conduct and misdemeanor counts of aggravated driving under the influence of liquor, disobeying an officer and criminal mischief.
State police said Patton-Brisbon refused the services of a bail commissioner and was taken to the Rockingham County Jail, where he was held pending an appearance scheduled in Portsmouth District Court on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025.
Troopers were assisted by Portsmouth Police and Massachusetts State Police. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Gary Wood Jr. at Gary.J.WoodJr@dos.nh.gov.
