Rockingham County, NC – A 40-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after deputies say he allegedly kidnapped and assaulted a woman in Mayodan, North Carolina.
According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called on October 29, 2025, to a report of a possible abduction on Ellis Road. A caller told authorities that her friend was being held against her will in a domestic situation.
When deputies and Mayodan Police arrived, they found Michael Warren Serdar at the residence and detained him. Inside, officers located a woman showing signs of assault. She told investigators that Serdar had previously picked her up from another location, made threats toward her family, and allegedly pointed a firearm at her multiple times.
Serdar was arrested and charged with felony first-degree kidnapping, felony possession of a firearm by a felon, felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor communicating threats, misdemeanor domestic violence, and three counts of assault by pointing a gun. Authorities say Serdar also had two outstanding warrants from Stokes County for assault and communicating threats.
He was booked into the Rockingham County Jail with no bond and is scheduled to appear in court on November 10, 2025. The victim’s name is being withheld for safety reasons.
