Rockford, IL – Rockford Police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old man following a shooting reported Friday, October 3, 2025, on the city’s west side.
According to Rockford Police, officers responded around the 500 block of Locust Street for a report of a shooting victim. When officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old man suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The man’s identity has not yet been released pending family notification.
Police have not released any information on potential suspects or motives as the investigation remains ongoing. Detectives are urging anyone with details about the shooting or surrounding circumstances to contact the Rockford Police Department or submit an anonymous tip through Rockford Area Crime Stoppers.
