According to the Rockford Police Department, Clarence Jones, 20, was taken into custody in the 600 block of West State Street on outstanding warrants. Investigators say they recovered a loaded handgun at the scene and detained another individual, 21-year-old Demarland Rollins.
A short time later, detectives executed a related search warrant at a residence on South Johnson Avenue, where a loaded rifle was also recovered, authorities said.
After reviewing the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized multiple charges. Both men were booked into the Winnebago County Jail.
