Rockford, IL – A 19-year-old Rockford man is facing multiple charges following an early morning arrest by the Rockford Police Department’s Specialized Community Oriented Police Enforcement (SCOPE) team, according to a release issued Thursday.

Police said officers located a stolen vehicle shortly after midnight near the 4200 block of Auburn Street. When officers approached, the suspect allegedly fled on foot before being taken into custody a short time later. A handgun and additional evidence were recovered during the arrest, authorities reported.

According to the Rockford Police Department, Lyone Washington Jr., 19, of Rockford, now faces the following charges:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon
  • Aggravated Fleeing to Elude
