Andalusia, IL – Authorities in Rock Island County are investigating the death of a 28-year-old man after his body was found in a creek Monday afternoon, according to a release from the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies and Andalusia Volunteer Ambulance personnel responded to the area of Hills Creek and 2nd Avenue West around 4:05 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2025, following reports of a body in the water.

The Sheriff’s Office confirmed the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Rock Island County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death, which has not yet been established.

Officials said the man’s identity will be released once next of kin have been notified. The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office are jointly investigating the incident.

“No further details are available at this time,” the agency stated.
