Rochester, NY – A joint law enforcement task force arrested a known repeat violent offender and his accomplice Tuesday afternoon following a stolen vehicle investigation that began at Nazareth College in Pittsford last month.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force located the stolen vehicle around 12:50 p.m. on November 4, 2025, near Griffith Street in Rochester. Officers moved in and took 39-year-old Gabriel Medina and 33-year-old Kaycee Gannon, both of Rochester, into custody without incident.
Deputies said Medina, a “known violent repeat offender,” had previously been arrested by the same task force twice within the past four months on a Monroe County Court Bench Warrant for assault, criminal possession of stolen property, and resisting arrest charges dating back to January 2025.
Sheriff Todd K. Baxter commended the coordinated arrest, emphasizing the risks officers face from repeat offenders. “Mr. Medina is considered to be a threat to our officers and our community,” Baxter said. “We ask those in positions to make impactful changes to bail reform laws to consider all that is at risk to public safety.”
Both suspects face multiple counts of criminal possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Medina was remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $5,000 cash bail, while Gannon was held on $3,000. Medina has since been arraigned on his outstanding bench warrant and ordered held without bail.
