Buffalo, NY – Western New Yorkers can expect an unsettled start to the week, with showers and thunderstorms increasingly likely late Monday into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo.
Forecasters report that Sunday will be warmer, with highs ranging from the mid-70s to mid-80s across the region. A few isolated showers or storms may develop late in the day, particularly across far Western New York.
According to the NWS, conditions will turn more unsettled overnight and into the start of the workweek. Rain chances increase steadily, with precipitation probabilities climbing above 60% by Monday evening and reaching 75–85% coverage across much of the region by Tuesday. Thunderstorms are possible, though widespread severe weather is not currently anticipated.
The highest chances for rain are forecast for cities including Buffalo, Rochester, Jamestown, and Batavia, with significant coverage also expected in Dunkirk, Olean, and Wellsville. Temperatures will remain above normal despite the damp conditions, keeping highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
Travelers and commuters should plan for potentially wet and slower travel conditions Monday night through Tuesday. The unsettled weather pattern is expected to linger into midweek before conditions gradually improve.
