Elmhurst, Illinois – Two suspects involved in an armed robbery were arrested late Monday night following a high-tech search involving a police drone in Elmhurst.
According to Elmhurst Police reports the incident unfolded around 10:00 p.m. near Crestview Park when Illinois State Police, in coordination with Elmhurst Police, attempted to stop a vehicle linked to the robbery. After a brief chase, the vehicle was halted, but the suspects fled on foot. Utilizing a police drone and K9 units, officers quickly located and apprehended both individuals within a 15-minute span. A firearm was also retrieved from the scene.
Elmhurst Police confirmed that both suspects are in custody and that no injuries were reported during the incident, including to an officer involved in a collision with the suspect’s vehicle. Details on the forthcoming charges are awaited.
