Richmond, VA – Virginia residents will enjoy a pleasant fall-like day Friday before temperatures climb over the weekend, according to the US National Weather Service Wakefield.
Forecasters said an autumn-like air mass will linger today, with highs between 70–76 degrees and lows ranging from 46–60 degrees. Skies will remain mostly sunny, bringing a crisp and dry start to October.
According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will bring a slight warm-up, with highs between 74–79 degrees and lows dipping into the upper 40s to low 60s. Dry conditions will continue, making it an ideal day for outdoor activities across central and eastern Virginia.
By Sunday, temperatures are expected to rise further, reaching highs of 75–81 degrees with lows from 53–66 degrees. While skies will turn partly cloudy, dry conditions are expected to persist through the weekend.
The warming trend follows a cooler start to the week and reflects a seasonal shift as Virginia transitions into early October. Meteorologists said the dry stretch should provide favorable travel conditions, with no major weather disruptions expected across interstates and rural roads.
Residents planning outdoor events or fall activities such as apple picking, festivals, and leaf viewing should find comfortable weather through Sunday. The next chance of unsettled conditions may not arrive until the following week.
