Wakefield, VA – A chilly start to the weekend will give way to milder temperatures and a chance of rain by Sunday night across central and eastern Virginia.
According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, patchy frost is possible early Friday morning in parts of the Piedmont region, especially well west of Interstate 95. Daytime highs will reach the mid to upper 60s under mostly sunny skies.
Saturday will bring a gradual warmup, with highs climbing into the low to mid-70s and continued dry, pleasant conditions. Clouds will begin to increase by late in the day as a new weather system approaches from the west.
Forecasters expect breezier conditions on Sunday, with highs in the lower 70s and a chance of showers developing Sunday night and continuing into early Monday. Despite the cooler start, the weekend overall will feature comfortable fall weather for outdoor plans until rain arrives late.
