Wakefield, VA – After a frosty morning start, Virginia residents can expect a pleasant warmup heading into the weekend, though changes are on the way by Sunday.

According to the US National Weather Service Wakefield, Friday will bring mostly sunny skies and highs ranging from the low 60s inland to around 70°F near the coast. Clouds will begin increasing late in the day as a weak front crosses the area, possibly bringing a few light sprinkles overnight.

Saturday looks to be the nicest day of the weekend, featuring mostly sunny conditions and highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s. However, by Sunday, the weather will turn more unsettled, with a chance of showers or a few thunderstorms ahead of a stronger cold front expected to move through Sunday night.

Forecasters say early next week will bring another cool down, with temperatures returning to below-normal levels by Monday.

Residents are encouraged to make outdoor plans Saturday and keep an eye on updates for potential rain impacts Sunday.
