Rensselaer, IN – Following a call of concern on Thursday morning, Rensselaer Police swiftly uncovered a theft operation leading to multiple arrests.

Jim Szutenbach reported his girlfriend, Holly Davenport, missing, inadvertently triggering an investigation that revealed more than just her whereabouts. Upon locating Davenport, authorities noticed inconsistencies involving vehicle registration and items in her car, which were allegedly linked to theft from a local business.

According to the Rensselaer Police Department, a subsequent search of Davenport’s apartment and vehicle uncovered reportedly stolen goods. Davenport implicated Szutenbach in the thefts, stating they had targeted a business on McKinley Street. Szutenbach was later apprehended following reports of a suspicious individual.

Davenport faces charges of child neglect for leaving her children unattended, theft, and unauthorized vehicle entry. Szutenbach faces similar theft and unauthorized entry charges.
