Rensselaer County, NY – Families in Lansingburgh will see extra holiday cheer this season after the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office helped deliver a major toy donation to support children in need ahead of the holidays.

According to the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Kyle Bourgault and members of the department delivered three pallets of toys to Forty-One Sports Bar & Grille as part of the Lansingburgh Knights Football Annual Toy Drive earlier today. The delivery helps ensure donated gifts reach local families throughout the Troy-area neighborhood.

The toys were generously donated by Sheriff Craig D. Apple Sr. and his wife, Cheryl, whose ongoing commitment to community support continues to make a meaningful impact across Rensselaer County. Officials said the contribution highlights the importance of cooperation between law enforcement, local organizations, and individual residents—especially during the holiday season.

Sheriff Bourgault emphasized that strong community partnerships are essential to serving residents effectively, noting that collaboration allows agencies and volunteers to reach families who might otherwise be overlooked during the holidays.

The sheriff’s office also extended thanks to Ed Doin, Jeff and Michelle Pasinella, and the many volunteers with the Lansingburgh Knights Football program who organize the toy drive each year. Their efforts help ensure gifts are collected, sorted, and distributed to families throughout Lansingburgh and the surrounding Troy metro area.

Additional recognition was given to the Sheriff’s Office Building Maintenance staff, Highway Patrol Captain Justin Walrad for assisting with unloading the toys, and Lana Norton, who coordinated logistics from pickup through delivery.

Officials described the event as a clear example of neighbors helping neighbors—strengthening community ties while making the holidays brighter for local children.
