Reno, NV – A burst of classic spring sunshine is expected to take over northern Nevada this weekend, but dry air and rising temperatures could bring elevated fire concerns, especially near I-580 and other wind-prone corridors.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will mark a clear and sunny shift across Reno with temperatures peaking near 70°F. Winds will remain light during the day but may increase to around 10 mph by the evening. Sunday brings continued sunshine with a high near 68°F and slightly breezier conditions—winds could gust up to 20 mph.

Travelers and residents should remain alert for changing conditions, particularly on roadways like I-580 and US-395 where wind funnels can create sudden gusts. Fire danger may increase in dry, open areas as daytime humidity drops.

The spring weather will extend into next week with mostly sunny conditions and warming temperatures. Monday will reach a high near 77°F, with mostly clear skies continuing through Wednesday. Each night will dip into the low 40s, offering cool relief from warm days.
