Reno, Nev. – Northern Nevada will see a mix of summer warmth and midweek changes as patchy smoke lingers Saturday before clearer skies arrive. Highs will push into the upper 80s today before a gradual cooldown brings 70s by early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Reno, smoke is expected to thin out later today as winds shift, though gusts up to 20 mph could stir local air quality concerns. Sunday and Monday bring abundant sunshine, with highs around 83 on Sunday before dipping to the upper 70s Monday.

The pattern turns unsettled by Tuesday, when a chance of showers moves in during the evening hours. Wednesday looks cooler with highs near 71 and periods of rain possible, especially after midday. Winds could also increase midweek, adding a breezy edge to the cooler temperatures.

Travelers heading through the Truckee Meadows should remain alert for smoke impacts on visibility this weekend and wet roads by midweek. Outdoor plans are best scheduled for Sunday or Monday before showers return.

Conditions improve again by late Thursday into Friday, when sunshine and highs near 70 are expected.
