Nevada – Bright sun and dry air are quickly warming Reno this afternoon, but a shift toward cooler, unsettled weather is already taking shape later this week.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures climb to near 75°F today under mostly sunny skies, with light northwest winds increasing to around 10 mph this afternoon. Clear conditions and low humidity are driving a comfortable but dry spring feel across the Truckee Meadows.

Across Reno, Sparks, and along I-580 and I-80, visibility remains clear and roads are dry, making for smooth travel through the afternoon. By evening, temperatures fall quickly into the low 40s, bringing a crisp feel after sunset. Cooler air settles into valleys overnight, especially in low-lying areas.

Tuesday remains sunny with a high near 73°F, followed by a slight cooldown into Wednesday with highs around 72°F under mostly sunny skies. The pattern stays quiet and dry through midweek, offering consistent spring conditions with cool mornings and mild afternoons.

By Thursday afternoon, clouds begin to increase as a slight chance of showers develops. Light rain may spread into the evening, creating slick roadways and reduced visibility, especially during the commute. Additional chances for showers and isolated thunderstorms continue into Friday.

Looking ahead, scattered showers may linger into the weekend with cooler highs in the 60s.

Enjoy the warm, dry stretch while it lasts. Are you planning outdoor time before the rain arrives?
