Reno, NV – Temperatures plunged to record lows in Reno and South Lake Tahoe on Friday, as Nevada experienced an unusually chilly August day. Reno’s high of 69°F broke a 1904 record, while South Lake Tahoe’s high of 59°F shattered a 1978 record.
However, this unseasonably cool weather won’t last long. Starting Saturday, Reno will see a high near 66°F under mostly cloudy skies, with temperatures slowly rising through the weekend. Sunday will bring a high of 75°F with sunny skies, providing a pleasant end to the weekend.
Monday marks the start of a significant warm-up, with the temperature soaring to 84°F under clear skies. This warming trend will continue into midweek, with highs reaching the upper 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday. By Thursday, Reno is expected to hit 90°F, fully returning to typical summer weather.
While today remains unseasonably cool, residents can expect the warmth to return soon, beginning as early as Monday.
