Nevada – A crisp, cool start greets Reno this morning, with temperatures in the upper 30s and calm air settling over the Truckee Meadows before a rapid warm-up begins.
According to the National Weather Service, highs climb into the low 70s today under partly sunny skies, with light winds developing out of the east. The calm, dry setup allows temperatures to rebound quickly, bringing comfortable conditions by afternoon.
The warming trend continues into the weekend. Highs reach the upper 70s Saturday and hold in the upper 70s again Sunday under mostly sunny skies. It will feel mild and spring-like, ideal for outdoor plans across Reno, Sparks, and along I-80.
Travel conditions remain excellent through the weekend, with dry roads and clear visibility. Morning commuters should still watch for brief cold spots early, especially on bridges and shaded areas.
Changes arrive early next week. Clouds increase Monday, with a slight chance of showers developing by Monday night. This marks the beginning of a more unsettled pattern.
By Tuesday, scattered showers become more likely, and snow levels begin to drop from above 8,000 feet toward around 7,000 feet. While valley rain dominates, nearby Sierra passes could see accumulating snow, impacting travel along I-80.
Looking ahead, cooler conditions continue into midweek with additional chances for rain and mountain snow.
