Rehoboth Beach, DE – A Rehoboth Beach man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into the same restaurant twice in just over two weeks, stealing food and alcohol valued at nearly $2,000, according to Delaware State Police.

On September 27, 2025, troopers responded to The Local restaurant on Coastal Highway for a burglary report. Police say a suspect allegedly forced entry into an outdoor walk-in refrigerator behind the business and stole a large quantity of food and alcohol.

Then, on October 13, troopers were called back to the same restaurant for another reported break-in. Investigators say a suspect, dressed in black and carrying a white backpack, allegedly entered the same refrigerator and fled the scene on a bicycle.

Troopers searched the area and stopped 60-year-old Craig Beckett, who matched the suspect’s description and was reportedly carrying a backpack containing stolen food. Detectives later identified him as the same individual connected to the September burglary.

Beckett was taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with multiple felonies, including two counts of third-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, and theft over $1,500. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $14,000 secured bond.
