Redfield, Arkansas — A high-speed chase on Interstate 530 ended in a crash and arrest Monday morning.

According to the Arkansas State Police, the pursuit began around 11:15 a.m. on Monday, March 23, when the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance with a fleeing suspect traveling northbound near Redfield.

Authorities identified the driver as Deandre Brothers, 29, who was wanted for allegedly making terroristic threats, aggravated assault, and resisting arrest. Deputies initially led the pursuit before state troopers took over around 11:30 a.m.

Police said the suspect allegedly reached speeds of up to 125 mph and nearly struck other vehicles. A trooper performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) near the Redfield exit to stop the vehicle.

Following the maneuver, the suspect’s vehicle crossed the median into southbound lanes and collided with a civilian’s van. Officials said the van’s driver was not injured.

Investigators said Brothers allegedly fled on foot after the crash but was quickly apprehended by deputies. A passenger in his vehicle was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. No law enforcement officers were hurt.

“This suspect endangered the lives of countless motorists traveling on I-530,” Arkansas State Police Col. Mike Hagar said in a statement.

The incident temporarily impacted traffic along I-530 and remains under investigation. Additional charges are expected.

The crash and closure may have caused delays for commuters and midday travelers in the area.
