Montana, North Dakota, Guam – As wildfires become a growing concern across several regions, critical fire weather conditions are expected this weekend, with red flag warnings issued for parts of Montana, North Dakota, and Guam. The heightened fire risk is due to a combination of low humidity, gusty winds, and rising temperatures, potentially fueling rapid fire spread in these areas.

According to the National Weather Service, Montana’s northeast region, including areas like the Fort Peck Reservation, Daniels, and Roosevelt counties, will see wind gusts of up to 25 mph and humidity levels dropping as low as 10%. These conditions will last from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. MDT Saturday. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning and remain vigilant, as any fire that ignites is expected to spread rapidly, especially towards the northeast.

In North Dakota, a Red Flag Warning has been issued for the western and central regions, from noon CDT to 9 p.m. CDT Saturday. Winds will be southeasterly at 25 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph. Relative humidity will drop to around 10%. The National Weather Service warns that any fire that starts could quickly become uncontrollable.

Meanwhile, in Guam, the National Weather Service has extended a Red Flag Warning until Sunday, with heightened fire conditions expected throughout the day, especially over higher terrain. Winds will be between 15 to 20 mph, and humidity will drop to 50-60%. Firefighters are cautioned that winds and terrain may make firefighting efforts particularly difficult.

All residents in these areas are advised to stay prepared and avoid activities that may lead to fire ignition. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, and more updates will be issued as conditions change.
