Tucson, AZ – A Red Flag Warning is in effect from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday across southeastern Arizona due to strong winds, low humidity, and an elevated wildfire risk.
According to the National Weather Service in Tucson, the warning applies to Fire Weather Zone 152, covering parts of Graham, Cochise, Greenlee counties, and the Southern San Carlos Reservation. Southwest winds will range from 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph, while humidity levels will drop to 13-16%.
Officials warn that any fires that ignite could spread rapidly due to the dry conditions and strong winds. Residents are advised to avoid outdoor burning, properly dispose of cigarette butts, and secure loose materials that could spark fires.
Fire departments and emergency crews across the affected region remain on high alert. Authorities urge residents to report any signs of wildfire activity immediately.
