Indianapolis, IN – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers made a swift arrest in a homicide case on Wednesday, thanks to teamwork and advanced technology. At 8:52 p.m., Northwest District officers responded to a disturbance in the 2600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.

The Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) played a crucial role in the investigation. Using security cameras and technological tools, RTCC officers identified a suspect fleeing the scene. This information was immediately relayed to detectives on-site, who quickly canvassed the area for additional evidence and witnesses.

Later that evening, East District officers located the suspect’s vehicle in the 2000 block of N Bancroft St. Inside the vehicle, officers found two firearms and other evidence linking the suspect to the earlier homicide.
