Ravenna, OH – Residents are invited to a free community event this month as Portage County Cares Christmas returns to Ravenna on Thursday, December 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Townhall II, 512 N. Chestnut Street.

According to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office, members of the agency’s Quick Response Team (QRT) will be in attendance to support the effort. The event aims to provide warmth, nourishment, and essential supplies to local families during the holiday season.

Organizers say attendees can receive hot soup, hats, gloves, scarves, hygiene items, Narcan kits, and shelf-stable pantry goods while supplies last. In addition to these giveaways, several agencies will offer community resource information to help residents connect with local health and recovery programs.

The event is presented in partnership with the Portage County Health District, Townhall II Integrated Health Network, and the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early, as supplies are limited.
