Raleigh, NC – Central and eastern North Carolina face an elevated fire danger Friday due to very dry air and low humidity levels, according to the US National Weather Service Raleigh, NC. Minimum relative humidity is expected to drop as low as 23–30%, with light winds and dry fuels creating conditions favorable for rapid fire spread.
Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning and use extreme caution with any ignition sources, as even small fires could spread quickly under these dry conditions.
Later tonight, temperatures will dip into the mid-30s across much of the region, leading to another round of patchy frost, especially in rural and sheltered areas. Sensitive vegetation should be protected to prevent cold damage.
The weekend will bring continued cool mornings and seasonable afternoons, with temperatures expected to rebound into the 60s by Sunday under mostly sunny skies.
